What stays on your machine
The app stores imported trading records, dashboards, and settings on your computer. Reviewing existing trades and importing local report files do not require a hosted RiTrade database.
Your computer’s security still matters. Anyone with access to your files may be able to access your trading history.
When an internet connection is used
Local storage does not mean the app never connects to the internet. Downloading releases and checking for updates require a connection. If you configure a broker API import, the app connects to that provider to fetch reports.
You can turn off automatic update checks in Settings. File imports and reviews of existing data work offline.
How credentials are stored
Stored secrets, such as broker credentials, are encrypted with a key held in a separate local file. This helps protect a copied data file when the key is not copied with it.
It does not protect against someone who can access both files or control your computer. Encryption of credentials also does not mean the entire trading database is encrypted.
Look after your backups
RiTrade creates a local data backup before installing an update. Keep your own regular backups too: a backup on the same drive will not help if that drive fails.
Follow the built-in guide for your installed version when moving or restoring data. Treat backups and credential key files as sensitive.
About this website
Optional registration
If you register, we collect your first name, optional last name, email address, and updates preference. The website sends these details to support@ritrade.app using Cloudflare’s email service. Your details are kept in the registration email, not a website registration database. Registration does not create an online account, verify your identity or email address, or upload your trades. You can skip it.
The updates checkbox is optional and starts unchecked. Your choice is included in the email to the RiTrade team for future RiTrade updates and feature announcements. We are not sending automated welcome, marketing, or licence-key emails to visitors at this stage.
We use registration emails to manage download interest and updates preferences and retain them while needed for those purposes. To request access, correction, or deletion of your details, or to withdraw your updates preference, contact support@ritrade.app. We may ask you to confirm that the email address belongs to you before acting on a request.
Download agreement
The disclaimer step requires you to scroll to its end and tick an agreement checkbox before opening GitHub. Your choice is held only on that page. We do not store an individual acceptance record, link it to your registration, or set a registration or agreement cookie. This step does not verify identity or prove that someone read the disclaimer.
Cloudflare and our email providers process information to operate these services, potentially outside your country. Cloudflare also processes connection information to serve the site and limit repeated form submissions. The website does not read your RiTrade database or include advertising trackers.
Download click counts
We use GoatCounter to count successful uses of the agreement button that opens the Windows releases. This statistic does not tell us whether you downloaded or installed RiTrade.
When you submit the enabled agreement button, the website sends a fixed event name to GoatCounter. We do not send registration details, agreement records, page query parameters, or referrers to GoatCounter, or set analytics cookies. GoatCounter receives connection information, including your IP address and browser headers, and uses temporary sessions to reduce repeat counts. Its dashboard may include aggregate browser and location information. Read GoatCounter’s privacy explanation.
We do not send page-view events. Click counting is disabled when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Cloudflare processes connection information when serving the site. Any external download service has its own privacy practices.
